Security Advisory Issued for NTP in TCP/IP V5.5, 5.6

On March 23, 2010 the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Software Security Response Team announced that a potential security vulnerability has been identified with HP TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS Running NTP. The vulnerabilities could be remotely exploited to execute arbitrary code or create a Denial of Service (DoS).

Affected NTP for HP OpenVMS TCPIP Versions:

v 5.5 on both the Alpha & Itanium platforms

v 5.6 on both the Alpha & Itanium platforms

The following patch kits have been made available by HP to resolve the issue:
